Amanda Poise is a multidisciplinary artist born and raised in the calm and chaos of NYC, specifically Bushwick, Brooklyn and Ridgewood, Queens. An actor, educator, burlesque performer and entertainment journalist, she is best known for her natural ingenuity, her curiosity and charm, and of course, her endless versatility in her artistry.

A passionate and devoted storyteller, Amanda Poise has sought out many creative ventures throughout her life. A Theatre Arts graduate from SUNY Purchase College with trainings from various acting programs, Poise has gone on to work in theatre, film, commercial and behind the scenes production work. She is a student to her craft and a professional in the act. 

Her individual projects include War In High Heels, a documentary photo-series that follows the stories within the Burlesque community. Her mission is to record the evolution of burlesque through personalized narratives within New York City’s notorious nightlife, and eventually the rest of the globe. 

Aside from her personal projects, Poise is also an educator and teaching artist.  She is a team leader to organizations Broadway for Arts Education and Girl Be Heard, aiming to make arts education accessible for everyone. In addition, Poise has also shared openly about her knowledge of the arts in various university spaces and continues to do so.  

Poise continues to pursue her dreams of acting, education, media and entertainment through various projects in the making.
